Some Sketches

Rosa Parks
parks herself
(in a bus),
Refuses to budge
and sparks
a revolution
that dredges
man from
the sludge -
a disgrace
called
race

I did the sketch and wrote the lines almost at one stretch. Reviewed it later. When I sent this to my friend Suresh Babu, he promptly sent me the photograph below - the very bus on which Rosa Parks registered her historic protest.

He had seen and photographed it in the Henry Ford Museum in Detroit. I had never thought that such a historical vehicle would still be there to see. Thrilled.

Here are some more sketches done recently - without similar interesting history, though.

I hope these speak for themselves!
